Maukinak Trail Updates:

Kennewapeko/Thundercloud Portage:

Rattlesnake Creek is fully navigable. The long 1 km portage between Kennewapekko Lake nad Thundercloud Lake has been checked and is in good condition. Still, watch your footing as there are some holes along the way, but most have been covered by corduroy

Harper/Upper Manitou Portage:

This trail is open and passable, but we are currently working on short reroutes around 2 segments. For now, follow the main trail to access the crystal clear waters and excellent fishing on upper Manitou Lake.

For the development, stewardship and sustainability of water trails, including the Trans Canada Trail, in Northwestern Ontario.

For paddlers now, and for the generations after us.

Est. 2013

‘It is a completion of a great vision for both all of Canada and Northwest Ontario. Canoeing, kayaking, hiking and biking on our trail confronts the visitor with a wilderness of world-class beauty, with flora and fauna that can startle ones subconsciousness and calm the mind.

On this day, we, the people of the Path of the Paddle/Trans Canada Trail,

have completed a new national monument. Bon voyage!’

Past Chair  of Path of the Paddle
