Northern Ontario Travel has published an article, by Tracey Chartrand, about the excitement surrounding all of the great events in the summer 2017 as a result to the Grand Opening of The Great Trail, taking place on August 26th, 2017 across Canada!
A huge achievement is the Grand Opening of Path of the Paddle, the section of The Great Trail for North Western Ontario. After many years of hard work by dedicated volunteers, staff and paddlers, the 1200 km of amazing waters between Thunder Bay and Whiteshell Park in Manitoba has become a reality! In support of the opening of The Great Trail in Sunset Country, exhibits put together by Lake of the Woods Museum and Lake of the Woods Art Community to showcase the vast and diverse history behind canoeing and rowing in the area.
